Meet Ms. Gilman!

Hello! My name is Julia Gilman and this is my first year at St. Norbert School, but my second year teaching! I am very excited to be teaching 6th - 8th grade social studies, 7th grade ELA, 8th grade religion, and the Latin language elective!

Before becoming a teacher, I graduated from the University of Missouri with a B.A. History and B.A. Constitutional Democracy in 2021 and completed my M.A. Atlantic History and Politics in 2022. In 2023, I finished my second M.A. in History at Northwestern University in Evanston!

I grew up in the southwest Chicago suburbs, but live on the North Side of the city now, so outside of teaching, I love spending time with my family and going on adventures in the city with my dog, Whiskey Rebel (named after the first major insurrection in the United States in 1791!)!
